Ladies and Gents,

I'm super super excited to share with you this blog. Only in its brand new baby blogging stage, I have no doubt it's going to go on to be a HUGE success.

I have been pestering it's owner to start blogging for a while now. She's super smart, extremely talented, very creative, majorly resourceful and has BIG plans for her blog.

She features a number of times on my blog, because she is one of my best friends and I love her to bits!

Because she's a newbie, check out caitlinmaree and show her some blog love. Then don't forget to WATCH HER SPACE.

To market, to market to buy a......

There is no hour too ungodly for me to wake on a Saturday where we've planned a trip to the markets! The excitement I feel, closely resembles that of Christmas morning, honest. I'm that kind of weird.

Waking up at the crack of dawn, putting on my "market wear" (read track pants), pulling out my 'grandma' wheeled shopping trolley (which is only acceptable for anyone under 65 if you're heading towards a market), navigating the packed market aisles that closely rival the streets of any Asian country, and the tag team effort it requires to scout, acquire and keep a table whilst purchasing breakfast, all give me that "feel good" experience.

Or if I was to be totally transparent :) it's more likely the holy, righteous, garden of Eden feeling I get. Like I'm making some great contribution to the longevity of our planet, the health of my body and the pockets of our farmers. Someone hand me a Captain Planet and the Planeteers badge, and because I'm such a hero, maybe I can have one of each of the earth, wind, fire, water and heart ring?!

No honestly, I do get that warm fuzzy feeling when Mr B and I spend our morning at the markets. Our local "market" haunt is Rocklea, and we have a strategic plan of attack every time we go.

1. Only take a certain amount of cash with us, then $20 extra "emergency" cash, just in case (which always gets spent).
2. Peruse each stall before buying to work out who has the best bargains on what, which never works because we become so totally confused, "was it this stall or that stall?".
3. Lastly decided that we really only want to shop at this one stall (same each week) because, well I'm not really sure why!

I took some photos, as I always do, to share the journey with you. They lady whose arm is in the cherry shot actually had to retract her arm from her cherry picking and wait for me and Mr B to take our photos ha ha. Enjoy xx And find a market near you. If you don't love it I'll ....... actually begin to wonder if I am in a class of my own.

Busy breakfast tables. Exhibit A Man signalling his marketing partner, proof of the tag team effort needed.
Freshly squeezed orange juice and breakfast burger, with Haloumi (of course).
Does the word "bountiful" spring to mind?
Mr B loves this store, a lot of organic goodness.
He was also very taken with this "dog treat" stall, which we went back to 3 times.

He made 6 purchases, I'm surprised he didn't bring home a "doggy" bag for himself.
I wasn't left out, he bought me some take home treats.
We weren't the only ones who enjoyed our morning date with the markets.
Levi, enjoyed his market bought Ostrich bone.

It's that time of the week again! The one where we all breathe a sigh of relief that we are able to say 'good riddance' to the work week and 'why hello' to the weekend. However there are more things to be grateful for than just the weekend.

1. I'm extremely grateful that my husband is in charge of dinner tonight. Thick juicy steaks are on the menu. Many children are going to bed hungry tonight!

2. That, said husband, loves and spoils me by not only bring home thick juicy steaks, but leaving a little surprise for me on the kitchen table.... can you say PURE INDULGENCE FACIAL AND MASSAGE! Many women are enslaved, trafficked and treated like objects for pleasure tonight!

3. That on this chilly winters night, while my husband is cooking our thick juicy steaks and I am dreaming about facials and massages, I can warm my tootsies by the fire place. Many people are without a home to keep them warm as they sleep on the street tonight!

4. That I have a husband who is my best friend, who honors me, treats me like a princess, and is full of integrity. And that we both know the hand from which our blessings flow. Many souls are empty tonight, though surrounded by people, success, and fortune, there is an void that they can not fill!

Though you may see others who are more fortunate than you, remember there will always be someone less fortunate. So don't look in envy upon those who have more, be grateful for what you have been blessed with as your realise there are some who have so very little.

There is a lot to be grateful for, check it out here!

Spectacular Saturday!

Monday, July 25, 2011

I had the most enjoyable Saturday just gone, and I thought that I would share it with you in film!

My husband (Mr B) getting breakfast sorted.
Saturday morning BBQ breakfasts are divine.
A trip to the Rocklea Markets brings much temptation.
And then some more.... Those lamingtons were HUGE.
I'm a sucker for the flowers here.
I took home these.
And these.
Then I enjoyed the best Spa Pedicure at Pearl. They use hot rocks to massage your legs,Heaven!
I got to sit and drool over some winter warmers.... I am sure just looking adds on the weight.
Dinner with the best of friends @ Mundos.... they were somewhat hungry.
We were all in heaven. There was so much meat!
And it was cooked to perfection. We tried to hook Naomi up with this cute waiter so that we could all dine for free regularly, but she wouldn't have any of it. What's with that?!?!?
Dessert back at our place! Made even more delectable by a few episodes of Jerseylicious.

Great Weekend, hope yours was too! xx

Those days where you can crawl back into bed and have the luxury of being under the covers for as long your heart desires....

After only 5 hours of sleep, 2 nights in a row, I am beginning to feel like the walking dead! I'm too old for this, and no doubt I look as charming as I feel. Right now, I'm thanking my lucky stars that my morning shift at work was only 2 short hours, and now I am able to indulge and climb back into bed without a care in the world, and stay there until I please.

Blissful days like this are a rarity. I'm going to make the very most of it!! So please don't be offended if I don't answer your call or reply to your msg, I promise I'm not ignoring you, I'm just enjoying a wonderful deep slumber!

While I nap, check out BabyMac hosting for Maxabella for more gratefuls!

In the dead of the night.

Yes its way too late to be awake. Well it is for someone who climbs into bed at 8pm regularly!

Can't sleep....

So what am I doing? Eating Pop Tarts, drinking milk and reading 'good food' magazine. I may have had a bite size flake before that also.....and a turkish delight (imagine me glancing anywhere but into your eyes in shame).

But this is the last of the late night binging, or any time of the day binging for that matter, because I am off to be transformed, by lots of hard work, a dietitian and the accountability of blogging!

No turning back, its out there now!

Man's Best Friends.....

Tuesday, July 19, 2011

These two are totally getting the better of me today! I am being outwitted at every turn.

You'll notice that they are in the bedroom....... the shouldn't be in the bedroom. They should be downstairs, contained, in the kitchen. However my baby gate, 3 chairs & doggy bed 'keep out' contraption is no match for their cunning team work, and they have managed to 'bust out' 3 times already today. Forget are you smarter than a 5th grader, it should be, 'can you out smart your pets'. I am failing dismally.

Marriage & Our Better Halves!

Today we have the sheer joy of celebrating with a family so dear to our hearts, as their precious only daughter walks down the aisle. To marry the boy she has loved since she was little! What a dream come true.

I'm so grateful for the gift of marriage. I'd dreamt of getting married since I was four years old, I remember being 12 and creating wedding dress designs with my little HB pencil. Many a cute boy came (and went) and I wondered....... "Will I be his Mrs?". Planning my wedding was a labour of LOVE. I hand made cards to ask my special girls to join me on the day as bridesmaids, I made a wedding newsletter with all the hot wedding goss, and by the day I got married I had 87 bridal magazines! I continued buying them for some time after I was married.

I've been married almost four years now, the wedding and glee filled preparations are fond, somewhat fading memories. However I have discovered a treasure that far outweighs the bliss of 'the wedding' - My husband, my better half.

What a blessing it is to be joined to someone in such a close, intimate, forever way! My husband is honestly my best friend, he knows my soul (because I am so vocal in baring it). He knows my thoughts and dreams, he see's my raw emotions, I have no fear of being my true self with him. He is the only person who I have ever felt that I can be exactly 'me' with. Others cause us to temper our opinions, watch our words, sugar coat things, step lightly, but with my man... I am as I am!

I have some beautiful other besties, who I love and adore and whom I can relax and be myself with. However only my husband see's me warts and all!!! I am so undeniably grateful for my better half!

Fill your day with encouragement to be truly grateful by visiting Maxabella xx And I promise to upload some of today's wedding piccies, you're going to want to see these, trust me!

The simple things in life!

Today I had a day off, so I decided to make it a 'Dee Dah Day'. What is a 'Dee Dah Day', you may ask? Far be it from me to keep this wonderful idea to myself, let me share. I read about this brilliant idea in a book entitled "The Life You've Always Wanted', a 'Dee Dah Day' entails filling a particular day with the things you love most, doing the things you most enjoy, spoiling yourself all day. So I rented Anne of Green Gables the sequel, got myself a McChicken Meal (my first in years) with a Strawberry Shake and sat on the couch all afternoon in my Pyjama's! It was delightful and I'm so grateful that the simple things in life can bring me such utter pleasure.

Check out more gratefuls over with Maxabella!
