There's Something in the Water!

Today Mr B and I were VERY VERY brave and did something we have never done before.
We went on a hunt... for ORGANIC foods - totally uncharted waters for team B.

It's part of a decision to do better by ourselves and our physical health. Up till now, we've been pretty shocking, especially considering my husband more qualified than your average personal trainer when it comes to exercise and fitness, that treasure trove of knowledge has been accumulating a ton of dust (and fat).

We have started small, small changes are the best, right?! Milk made by happy cows who roam free in spacious pastures where the grass glistens green as the sun shines upon the dew drops that litter the field. Eggs laid by chickens who have fluffy nests of hay to rest their feathered rumps upon, where I'm sure the eggs are coaxed out of them with soothing music. Bread milled from grains who live in harmony with the bugs of the field.

I'm super excited about tomorrow as we've decided to take a field trip to explore some of the organic grocers in our area. Who knows what's next? Tie dye and smoking weed... joke. Maybe one day they will get one of these in Australia.

I want want want!

What I'm Listening To

I love the serenity of some Angus and Julia Stone!

Sweetheart I love you!!

This is the photo that adorns my desk & keeps me company while I work on my computer. My niece and goddaughter Isabelle, isn't she adorable. She's grown some what since this picture was taken. Looking at this photo fills my heart with such JOY. "Boo Boos", you have such a special place in Aunty Bec's heart, thank you for never failing to lift my spirit (and you're not even 2).

Where in the world?

Monday, April 4, 2011

Life has been crazy busy the last two weeks. We've been hopping from one fun function, to the next. But honestly..... hate it when it gets like that! I always end up feeling so out of control. Does anyone else think, 'where did the last two weeks go?' or am I alone in that? I secretly (not any more) love having only a small handful of commitments, it keeps me feeling grounded. Keeps me feeling like I am in control.

Someone wise and educated once said (I think it was Dr James Dobson - huge fan), that each individual has a "plate", upon which all our commitments, activities, comings and goings are piled upon. All our plates are different sizes. Some have dinner plates, some small entrĂ©e plates, and I've known people who I am sure live lives served on humongous platters. It's valuable to work out the size of your plate, and keep what you're dishing up in check.

My world turns much better when I remember my "plate" is a tiny saucer. So as of today I'm putting myself on a "restricted eating plan"!

I love you like a fat kid loves chocolate cake!

As March drew to a close, Mr B and I celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary. It's so not cliche to say, 'time flies when you're having fun'. Our story (from even before we first met to the day we married) is incredibly unique, and marked by some pretty amazing confirmations and sign posts from the big man upstairs. Everyday I look at my husband I'm reminded about the extreme goodness of God. He allowed me to experience heart ache so that I would surrender my pathetic ideas about 'the dream' so that He could blow them far out of the water and show me that "His ways are not my ways" Isaiah 55:8, and I'm grateful for that.

We have a love "before" first site story. I still remember the first day I spoke to my husband, I sent my best friend Kelly a text message saying, "I just met the man I am going to marry". Shortly after God gave me a verse that brought everything into perspective.

And He continues to show me everyday just how true this is. I am amazed.

We had the most amazing anniversary weekend, doing the things we love most. We went away for the weekend, dined, ate, walked on the beach, went to the movies, had lots of massages and spend the night of our anniversary indulging in the most incredibly delicious meal at the restaurant where we had our wedding reception. We have an amazing bunch of friends who shouted us a weekend away. So blessed. Excuse my iPhone photos, all of food, I must get some batteries for my camera.

Rediscovered my love for sushi train.
I do only eat the chicken though, so it's a long time between carriages.
Gelato from QLD #1 ice cream venue as voted by the 1 love food awards. Yes we went 3 times!
